Commercial Property with a specific interest in the Public Sector. The majority of my clients are GPs, PCTs and Further Education Colleges. However I do feel it is important not to lose a commercial focus so also act for a number of long established property and trading companies

My experience/ cases of note

I find working in a team most rewarding so have enjoyed those transactions where it has been necessary to field a group of lawyers from the firm often from different departments. A good example of this is the work we did and still do for Salford PCT in respect of their involvement in the procurement of six purpose built health centres. In this case there is a strong emphasis on collaboration with the other stakeholders including the local authority, the building contractors, the banks and the LIFT Company. We are very proud to have played a part in the development of the centres when we see the finished article and serving and enhancing their communities

My additional qualifications

I am a part time Tribunal Judge in the Social Entitlement Chamber.

What I do when I'm not at work

I enjoy tennis and celebrate the fact that I am still fit enough to play. I spend a lot of time in the garden and recently dug up the front lawn to create a vegetable patch which my son and I have spent many a happy hour digging over and planting. Sadly the yield does not reflect the hard work but it is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and spend time with my children. As a family we are strong supporters of the Jennifer Trust a support group for people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
