George Davies lawyer teams up with CIMA

Solicitor and Shariah Law expert Tasnim Khalid, of leading Manchester law firm George Davies, has teamed up with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to promote CIMA's certificate in Islamic Finance.

CIMA has entered into a contract with a Jordan based organisation to translate and deliver the Islamic Finance Certificate in Arabic throughout the Arab speaking world.

Tasnim along with speakers from CIMA and the Islamic Bank of Britain presented at a recent CIMA event at the Midland Hotel in Manchester that was attended by more than 80 people. The event aimed to increase awareness of the Islamic Finance certificate and encourage foreign investment into the North West.

Tasnim commented "The CIMA event went really well and we hope to roll out further events later in the year in order to educate the general public about Shariah Law. I have extensive experience in drafting Shariah Law compliant documents.

In recent years I have observed an increase in Islamic investment into the North West and a growing need for Shariah Law compliant legal advice.

The certificate offered by CIMA will assist those interested in Islamic Finance in ensuring they equip themselves with the necessary knowledge required in this growing market."
