Who are we?

We may not be the most obvious name in the Manchester legal scene compared to some of the big name firms. We may not have the largest number of partners, the trendiest offices or the glossiest brochures but in fact if that’s what you’re looking for, we’re probably not the firm for you. So why consider us?

George Davies Solicitors LLP celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2008. Our only office is in central Manchester and we are proud of our links with this city. We believe there is a distinct market for the medium sized law firm to provide quality and cost effective services while managing at the same time to maintain a Partner led business. George Davies Solicitors LLP is an established firm with a young outlook and plans for future expansion.

Work Hard - Play Hard

It’s not all hard work though. George Davies as a law firm might have been around for 70 years but in fact the average age of all personnel is in the 30’s. This fact tends to be reflected in the wide array of formal and informal social and sporting activities that are regularly organised. There is a cricket team, a netball team, a 5-a-side football team and several people take part in 5k races and marathons. Socially in addition to ad-hoc team or departmental events there is a boardroom drinks night every two months, a Christmas party and a summer party. This year our charitable work involves all sorts of social and sporting events to raise much needed funds for The Mustard Tree (see our CSR page in About Us). We also have a Green Team working on how the firm can improve its carbon footprint.
