Working Mothers in Business

The problem for Working Mums

After the birth of her first son in 2005, solicitor Lindsey Farrelly noticed that it was increasingly difficult to attend networking events when working part time. This was partly due to the days on which they were held but also the length of them. Lindsey, like a lot of part time workers, felt that it wasn’t acceptable to be out of the office for several hours at a networking lunch when one was only in the office for two or three days; it added to the pressure of an already busy week.

The solution?

Working Mothers in Business, a networking group specifically designed for working mums. The group meets bi-monthly for a short lunch (no more than an hour but ladies can stay longer if they wish). Most lunches include guest speakers covering a range of topics that affect working mothers, from business issues to lifestyle and mother/child topics – ideal for those that are juggling a professional career and family life. Each lunch is held at a restaurant or a member’s offices and there is a small charge to cover food costs.

Membership is FREE but you must be a mum (no matter what age your child/ children), step-mum or expecting a child, to join. We now have over 200 members and would love to welcome you at our next event.
