George Davies Foundation

The partners and staff at George Davies are committed to helping local charities and good causes but we recognised that with so many out there the rewards of our fundraising efforts were being spread too thinly to make a very big impact. So, we set up the George Davies Foundation, a charitable trust that the partners contribute to each year and the staff committee adds to by co-ordinating fundraising events throughout the year for clients and staff.
Each year staff are given the opportunity to nominate a charity to benefit from our endeavours and the committee which is made up of a cross section of staff from all areas of the firm is responsible for growing the foundation pot each year to raise as much money as possible for the nominated charity.
See the links below to the various charities we have supported.

The Joshua Tree and CP Sport
This year we decided to support two very different charities. Firstly, The Joshua Tree, a charity aiming to build and run a holiday house and support centre in Cheshire, where children with a life threatening illness can come with their families for a free short break
Derian House Children's Hospice
Derian House is a children's hospice in Chorley, Lancashire. It was established in 1993 by the parents of a terminally ill child at a time when there was little or no local support for families in their situation.
Mustard Tree
The firm's chosen charity in 2009 was the Mustard Tree, a Christian charity based in North Manchester which helps "To improve and rebuild the lives of homeless and marginalised people in Manchester."
The Prince's Trust
The firm's chosen charity for 2008 was the Prince's Trust. The Trust was founded in 1976 by The Prince of Wales and aims to improve the lives of young people across the country.
